Terms of Service

By downloading, accessing, or using Dissent, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. You must be at least 13 years old to use Dissent.

Dissent is an AI-powered debate app that generates counter-arguments to user-submitted opinions using artificial intelligence. The App is provided for entertainment and educational purposes only.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@dissent-app.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

By submitting any content to the App — including opinions, stances, debate inputs, and feedback — you grant Dissent LLC a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, distribute, and otherwise exploit your content for the purposes of: operating and improving the App; training and improving AI and machine learning models; creating aggregate and de-identified datasets; and licensing such datasets to third parties for research, analysis, and commercial purposes. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

The App uses artificial intelligence to generate debate responses, scoring, and other content. This content may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or factually incorrect. AI Content does not represent the views of Dissent LLC or any real person. AI Content is provided for entertainment and educational purposes only and is not professional advice of any kind — including legal, medical, financial, or political advice. AI personalities in the App are fictional. References by AI personalities to real persons, organizations, or events should not be relied upon as factual.

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, attempt to manipulate or reverse engineer AI systems, submit content that is defamatory or infringes third-party rights, or use the App if you are under 13 years of age.

Dissent offers auto-renewing subscription plans. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. You may cancel at any time through your Apple App Store account settings. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. A free trial may be offered to new subscribers; unused trial debates are forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dissent LLC's total liability arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in the county in which you reside or Santa Clara County, California, at your election. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION. This does not apply to claims in small claims court or claims for injunctive relief to prevent intellectual property infringement.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.

These Terms are between you and Dissent LLC only, not Apple Inc. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for any claims relating to the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time using the Delete My Account feature in the App. Sections 4, 5, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dissent LLC regarding your use of the App.
